Following a unanimous vote at the scheduled committee meeting on the evening of Tuesday 17th January 2017 it was agreed that John Spandley would be asked to step down from all Rugby coaching and performance responsibilities at the club.

It was also agreed that the best interests of the club would be served by appointing Alan Walters as Head Coach for the rest of the season and into 2017/2018.
This decision was communicated to John by the club Chairman Nick Hoon yesterday Thursday 19th January at midday.

This was a difficult decision to make but it was agreed that as the club has a duty of care to all members and in the light of the club’s health and safety responsibilities asking John to step down was the best way to help him complete his rehabilitation from ill health.

John has been loyal and proud member of Slough Rugby Club for over 20 years and the committee thanks John for all his efforts on the coaching side of the club particularly at the end of last season. John will always receive a warm welcome at Slough RFC.
