Great day of Rugby played in sunshine and good spirits.
A sluggish Slough start saw Bracknell run through to score immediately in the first game. Caleb quickly replied for Slough leading to a to-and-fro of scores, Bracknell just nudging the lead at half time. The 2nd half saw some good work from Slough however despite the Greenies best efforts Bracknell kept the lead until the final whistle.
Slough made a promising start in the game against Tigers with some good competitive play however a dropped ball twice gave the ball away and Tigers were able to run these in with ease. The second half saw Slough work well together to put in some good tackles and force a number of handling errors. A great try for Cody Slough’s only score in this game.
Continued improvement in teamwork and growing confidence in play led to tries for Caleb and Harvey in the next game and a fantastic race down the wing took Hector over to score, however these weren’t enough to overcome a strong Richmond team while a plethora of tries for a quick-footed Harvey in the final game saw the day end in a narrow loss to Rams Lions.
Overall a great day of rugby played in the sunshine and good spirits. The U9s made good progress throughout the day against some very big clubs. They had a good time, learned a few things and are forming a great bond as a team.
